Hammertoes

Hammertoes

Hammertoes are contractures of the lesser toe joints due to biomechanical imbalance.  Sometimes the deformities are flexible and can easily be reduced with padding and strapping.  Other times, the deformities are more rigid and need to be addressed surgically.  Offloading pressure areas will help reduce corns on top of the toes as well as lesions on the toe tips.  Sometimes, the skin will become discolored on the toes from friction or pressure.

Again, these are conditions that can be medically or surgically treated, and the doctors at Silverman Podiatry will make sure you are treated with the most appropriate modalities for your specific needs.
